Some words about exhibition — Shangri-La Impression
Zan Buddhism has a teaching through looking into each others’ eyes not even need to open the mouth. People learn about each other first through eyes not language. To learn what is someone thinking in there mind, we only need to look into their eyes sometimes without language explanation. However one can’t understand and judge just by eyes but with its heart. The light of one’s heart is reflected through his eyes.
In the current over develop merterial life, we often don’t see hope in people’s eyes but desperation. Those mindless eyes are grey, no focus but everywhere..
The pictures exhibited were taken during the filed recording in Shangri-la, Yunan province in 2013. While the team was racing with time to save the dying out folk music and culture, our photographer captured all these faces. These figures carry heritage and legend in their life, through their eyes people can see the harmony between human and nature; the mark of history and time. Some of the eyes make your heart shake because it is the light of a Yogi;s heart, which is pure and peaceful. A true dharma practicer’s eyes inwards, through the inner road of life one can see the truth be hide the fact.
The nature often show us many gifts, but we are cable to accept them because we are in the so called daily life trap. If we want to accept the gifts, we need to shut our mouth, then listen and see with our heats.
Maybe the disappearing melody will help to find the breathing between the universe and us. Maybe looking into these eyes will help us to see our true hearts…..
