索尼世界摄影奖，是国际上有影响力的摄影奖项之一，作为当今最大的摄影活动之一，从美术到时装、广告和体育应用摄影，从人类、社会、文化和时事的人文主义和写实主义摄影到自然风光、野生生物和生态环境的环境照片，几乎所有题材或流派都有涉猎。索尼世界摄影大赛颁奖典礼以及展出提名人和获奖人作品的中心展览在法国戛纳的影节宫每年举行一次。
2011的索尼世界摄影奖的获奖名单已经揭晓，来自148个国家超过5万人参加了这一届比赛，最终产生10位获胜者，他们是：
运动：Chan Kwok Hung（香港）
夜景：Chumlong Nilkon（泰国）
建筑：Marek Troszczynski（波兰）
艺术与文化：Hubert Januar（印度尼西亚）
时尚：Edina Csoboth（匈牙利）
自然与野生动物：Andiyan Lutfi（印度尼西亚）
全景：Wolfgang Weinhardt（德国）
人物：Raghuranjan Sarkar（印度）
笑容：Carlos Henrique Reinesch（巴西）
旅游：James Chong（新加坡）
所有获奖作品将于4月26日至5月22日期间在伦敦Somerset House举办的世界摄影节上与专业组获奖展品一同展出。公开组的获奖者还将获得索尼数码单反相机作为奖品。
